Joseph Farah’s - None of the Above

So a little while back I wrote a riveting piece on why I am voting for Obama.  I changed my mind.  I am not voting for None of the Above (if that is an option on the Presidential ticket and I am not sure it is).  I will not vote for Obama nor for McCain.  The republican party lost its soul when it nominated McCain.  Mike Huckabee split the conservative vote allowing McCain to default his way into the nomination.  This is exactly what John Edwards did for barrack on the left.  And that’s fine.  There’s nothing wrong with that.  Where would we be today if Ralph Nader did not hang around in 2000 (by the way, i voted for ralph then).

So my blog post about my Obama vote attracted the attention of my friend KG.  KG dismantled my argument with the use of the BlogList, a format which brings order to chaotic arguments.  In his blog, Keith cites some near term differences over the next 4 years that the different candidates bring and their long term effects, such as Supreme Court nominations and the War on Terror.  Hindsight is 20/20 I guess, because if you’ve been paying attention this last week, McCain floated the idea of a Pro-Choice VEEP.  Now some have said he only did this to make Romney more palpable to the Republicans who feel Obama is a Christian because Rev Wright said so, but Romney is not.  I tend to agree with this theory, that is to say, McCain never intended to get a ProChoice veep but merely used it to ease the right into the Romney water.  Having said that, it still makes a point.  The only reason this ProChoice Veep rumor was even an effective gammit is because it is believeable that McCain would do it.  Now what does that say about McCain’s future supreme court nominations.  Like a dog to his vomit, what deals will McCain make with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed with a supreme court seat on the trade block?

So with no further adieu, I introduce you to a book by Joseph Farah, entitled None of the Above. I only found this yesterday hearing the author on the radio.  He sounds like me.  We get a lib either way in 08.  We might as well make it clear to the swing voters in 2012 that it was leftist policies that failed, not 12 years of (pseudo)Republicans.

Balls in your court, Keith  ;)

Why NBC and You Should Boycot the Games.

NBC, where did you put the 30 pieces of silver?

Never forget Tiananmen Square and the martyrs for freedom.  I’d like to see a vignette on this guy.  Do you think we’ll see it?  Can any athlete’s story be more compelling than his?  Congratulations to NBC and all the sponsors of the Olympics.  And no, we should not have gone to Munich in 1936, despite Jesse Owens performance.  For what do the olympics stand?  Or for what, did they stand?  Athens is dead.

Stop Hating on Politicians

There is nothing I love more than someone disparaging all politicians.  The rhetoric of the prolitariate.  Care to live in the 1950’s Soviet Union or in modern day China?  Last I checked, politicians who don’t represent their districts go home.  You got a problem with that, go form a more perfect union, or here’s a tip, vote!

Regarding these Republicans who are holding a college style sit-in over their vacation, I say right on.  And who cares if they just want to get re-elected, that’s the idea.  Represent us well, you keep your job (see paragraph 1).  http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,396322,00.html

Mark Levin: Obama apologizes to Germany for America’s Failings

What?  Are you serious?  Obama is apologizing to Germany on behalf of America because we failed to live up to the rule of law and equality?  Go visit the graves at Normandy or Bastogne and give that speech, Obama.

Background: Not sure if you heard it today, but Obama spoke in Berlin to a crowd of a couple hundred thousand people.  Mark Levin on his afternoon radio show blasted Obama for apologizing for America’s mistakes.  I love my country.  I spent three years of my life living in Germany because my dad, a US Serviceman was fighting the Cold War on behalf of American AND Germany.  I personally sacrificed along with many others to bring freedom to Europe.  And for what?  So this creep could deliver a pep rally to 21st century Marxists?  Rot in hell, Obama.

Chaffetz wins Republican Primary, Cannon loses Congressional Seat

In what many conservatives hope is a sign of things to come, a “Conservative” Republican lost his seat in Congress yesterday.  This despite endorsements from President Bush and Senators Hatch and Bennett.

This Republican primary election serves as a wakeup call to Republicans.  Many considered Cannon, a six term Congressman, extremely conservative.  However, he favored a guest worker program for illegal aliens.  Chaffetz hammered Cannon for this and Utah’s 3rd District responded.  Whether Chaffetz proves better or worse remains to be seen, but what it is clear that Utah put all incumbent Republicans on notice: fail to live up to their conservative ideals and you are gone.

*Note* This story received national air time today on the Mike Church Show.  Mike, a champion of conservatism and individual liberty, consistently warns Republicans to represent our individual liberty or get voted out of office.

Farewell Brother. Tim Russert Returns Home

I have truly enjoyed this political campaign.  Tim Russert represented NBC for debates and Meet the Press.  I enjoyed his work and analysis.  Sadly for us, Tim Russert returned home today at age 58.  From all accounts I am hearing in the media, he was a giant of a man.  He loved his own father and passed his father’s lessons to his son.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  Thank you for sharing your dad with us.
